Tuesday 11/24/09 - Is this REALLY necessary??

When I pulled into work this morning, I saw the hospital had all of their Christmas decorating completed. I had the intention of taking more pictures of Christmas decorations, but I had to get into work and ran out of time. This kind of thing REALLY irks me. You're probably thinking to yourselves, "What's so bad about Christmas decorations?" Well, it's not the decorations themselves, it WHEN they're put up. Look at the date of my picture. It was taken 11/24/09. That is TWO days BEFORE Thanksgiving. Why can't people wait until the day AFTER to decorate? I understand the weather was really nice here and it makes it much easier to put them up than when it's bone chilly. That's fine, but do the lights have to be turned on? I've seen people with Christmas lights on and Christmas trees up as early as the first week of November this year. Come on people...is that REALLY necessary? What's the point of even having Thanksgiving each year? Is it just to have a day off? Doesn't even seem like too many have this day off anymore. Stores are too busy getting ready for Christmas. I've even seen Halloween AND Christmas decorations out at the SAME time. Now that's just ridiculous, if you ask me. Okay...I'll get off my soapbox now. Oh, by the way...TIS THE SEASON!! Haha.
