Friday 2/26/10 - It's check up time again...

It is hard for me to believe my little debol sweet little boy is 18 months old today!  It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but yet it does.  I don't know if that makes sense, but it's the truth.  Today was Doctor visit day.  Brianna had to be checked to make sure her pneumonia was gone and it was time for Jacob's 18 month check up.  Both kids did great!  Brianna was a big girl and let the doctor check her ears, eyes, nose and mouth.  She HATES to have her ears checked.  It scares her and freaks her out (maybe because she's had so many ear infections, who knows?).  The doctor checked her over real well and gave her a clean bill of health!  YAY!  Now if she can STAY healthy...THAT'S the key!  Brianna lost a few pounds and weighs 34.6 lbs.  Her next check up (4 year check) will be in June so I'll let you know her stats at that time.

Jacob had to get two shots today.  He got his Dtap & HIB boosters.  He did great!  He didn't even cry!  That was a first.  He lost weight too.  He is 28 lbs 15.5 oz (75-80th%) and is 35 1/4 inches tall (greater than 97th%)!  WOW!  It's hard to believe he's 18 months old and almost 3 feet tall!  He's really tall for his age.  Most people, who don't know him, mistake him for being over 2 years old.  He's still unable to have peanut butter for 6 months.  I bet he'll love it when he's able to finally have it!   Their doctor was asking me about what he's able to do, his sleeping habits, what he eats, etc.  The doctor says Jacob must think he's 2 years old!  Jacob is able to say 13 words and is starting to put two words together.  He also recognizes animals and is able to identify and point out the correct ones, when he's asked.   The doctor also said to start introducing the toilet.  He said he's still very young, but we can try.  He said not to push the issue if Jacob isn't interested.  We FINALLY got Brianna TOTALLY potty trained only to start over with Jacob...lol.  Atleast we're not having to potty train two kids at the same time!  YIKES! The doctor also checked Jacob's eyes, ears, mouth and nose to make sure he was well too.  Thankfully everyone is on the mend and is all well!  I'm knocking on wood as I'm typing this.  Fortunately, spring is right around the corner.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the last bout of any illness for quite awhile.  We've had a really tough fall and winter. Everyone is ready to STAY HEALTHY!!   Hope all of you stay healthy too!  It's no fun being sick.  Hope everyone has a great friday!
