Sunday 8/1/10 - Jacob's early B-Day Celebration!

My dad and Rosina aren't able to visit with us for Jacob's "actual" birthday at the end of the month, so they came over early to celebrate.  I can't believe my baby boy will be 2 the end of August!  Where has the time gone?  Since Jack is STILL laid off, we won't be able to have a big shibang like we usually do for the kids' birthdays.  This year, it will be more low key and laid back.  We will be inviting grandparents and maybe aunts and uncles and a few cousins.  We'll see how it goes.  Today, we got to visit with my dad, Rosina, my grandma and my Aunt Margaret.  We all had a great time playing and visiting!  I don't know who had more fun, Grandpa Bill or my kids!  Grandpa said he wanted to take Jacob home!  I told him, "Never fear, you'll be ready to bring him back in a day or so, trust me!"  They all couldn't get over how much he resembled my brother, Dave.  Jacob has so many similar things in common with my brother (when he was little) it isn't funny.  They also couldn't believe how big he was!  My Aunt said she thought he looked more like a 3 year old than a 2 year old.  I took some fun pictures of our visit today.  Hope you enjoy them!

Grandpa Bill with his kiddos!  I think the look on their faces pretty much sums it all up!  Well, with the exception of Jacob.  You'll have to excuse him.  He doesn't like to look at the camera.

Both kids sat on Grandpa Bill's shoulders.  I was only able to get a picture of Brianna.  Go figure!

They had a blast getting a piggy back ride!  Jacob kept sliding off!

Rosina was sweet to make Jacob a Thomas the Train cake for his birthday.  She made everything by scratch.  It was REALLY good!

She made a cupcake for Thomas's head, an ice cream cone for the smoke stack and nilla wafers for the train wheels!  Now how creative is she??

He was so excited!  He wanted to dig in right away!  We had to stop him a few times from touching the lit candle.

We showed Jacob, a few times, how to blow out his candle.  He caught on real quick!

He blew it out right away!  He didn't mess around and dug into his cake!

He thought it was really good!  He loved it!  Fortunately, he didn't get too messy.  Nothing like last year!  I took precautions and took off his shirt first.

Both kids got some really great gifts!  This was a 6 pk of bubbles Grandma Great, Great Aunt Margaret & Great Aunt Lynne gave her.  She also got some really great outfits and pretty hair accessories too!

She was so excited about getting nailpolish, lip gloss and a coloring book w/stickers from Grandpa Bill and Rosina!  This gal LOVES all of this stuff!

Jacob was trying to show me some $$ he got for his birthday.  He quickly wadded it up and put in in his pocket!  He also got some great outfits and neat toys too from everyone!

Grandpa Bill was reading the new Thomas the Train story book that he gave to Jacob for his birthday.  Jacob loves to have Thomas the Train stories read to him...OVER & OVER & OVER!  :)

I got one last picture of Grandpa and the kiddos.  Everyone had a wonderful time!  I can't believe I didn't get pictures of anyone else.  Sorry Ro, Grandma and Aunt Margaret!

Thank you Dad, Rosina, Grandma Great, Great Aunt Margaret & Great Aunt Lynne for all the great gifts you so graciously gave to our kids!  They really enjoyed spending time with all who came.  The kids enjoyed themselves tremendously.  Dad, I hope you weren't too sore the next day!  Love you all!
