Friday 9/24/10 - First trip to the dentist

I found out that the dentist Jack, his dad and I go to see, sees children 3 and up!  YAY!!  So it was a no brainer for me to take B there!  I had been procrastinating on taking her to the dentist.  I wasn't sure about a few recommendations I was given.  None really convinced me to take her.  So, I called to make her very first appointment with my dentist!  I didn't think it would go very well, but she has to start getting used to going.  I explained to her the dentist was our friend, like her doctor.  He's there to help us keep our teeth and mouth healthy.  So, after school, we ate lunch then brushed our teeth to head out to see our friend, the dentist.  I took a few pictures of when she was there.

Dr. Cioni offered to get in the picture!  He is a really nice dentist!

She freaked out when he sat the chair back.  She started to cry.  She kept swatting his hand away from her mouth.  She kept telling me she wanted to go home.

All Dr. Cioni was able to do was count her teeth and check for cavities.  He showed me some other minor problems she had, but nothing that would cause long term problems or couldn't be corrected later on.

She even got a Princess sticker and a toy for coming to the dentist!  I've never been offered one when I go for my appointment...NO FAIR!  Hehe...

Fortunately for me (uh I mean her) she doesn't have to go back for another year.  Hopefully, she'll do much better at that appointment.  Maybe they'll be able to squeeze in a cleaning!
