Everyone in my Mary Kay unit, who became a star consultant, was able to go on a retreat with our director, Lisa Goodwin. It started off in Chicago, but then those plans got changed. We were going to go somewhere in Indiana, but those plans also fell thru. There were some girls in the unit who had family deaths and had to stay close to the area so we stayed in Effingham, IL. All of the girls who came are from around that area and east so that's why we stayed in Effingham. I was a little disappointed when Lisa called me to tell me about the change of plans, but I still decided to go. I don't get the opportunity to go anywhere outside of my "comfort zone" so I went. Effingham isn't exactly my idea of a retreat, but I was willing to give it a shot anyway. I was glad I did! We had a fun time! I learned so much! One of my favorite parts of the evening was when we wrote on balloons all of the things that were weighing us down. I had no trouble filling up my balloon with all of my worries and concerns. After we were finished, we went outside our hotel and released them into the air. I was surprised with how much better I felt by doing this. Lisa told us that after the balloons were released, we weren't allowed to worry about our problems anymore. Surprisingly, I haven't. It was also a spiritual retreat too. I really needed this to recharge my batteries! We didn't really do much but have alot of training, but it was still a fun time!
We ate at Cracker Barrel in Effingham. Misty (in the pink) was only able to stay for a short time, but we had fun while she was there! The lady on the right is my director, Lisa Goodwin. She has been with Mary Kay for 15 years. She is always ready and willing to help our her unit and share her wealth of knowledge!
This is another girl in my unit, Jessica. She is a sweetheart! Lisa insisted we have our picture take together too.
Saturday morning, Jessica, Lisa and I ate breakfast, then went our separate ways back home. It was a short retreat, but a needed one. I was glad to go home and see my babies! I missed them! I was holding the camera to take our picture. I accidently cut part of Jessica's face off. Oops!
Since we did all of our training in the hotel we stayed at, I didn't take any other pictures. I'm hoping there will be many more trips in my future!
