Saturday 10/23/10 - Annual Chili Party

Every year, in October, our friends have a Chili party.  Everyone who comes (who wants to eat) brings chili for how many people that comes with them.  Everyone's chili goes in a big pot for all to eat.  There are always hotdog and marshmallows to roast and a bunch of other goodies to munch on.  I made home made quesadillas so we ate at home instead this year.  We went to visit with our friends. We didn't plan on staying very long, but we were having so much fun we didn't leave til about 1am!  We didn't get to bed until after 2am!  I think I'm getting too old to stay up that late!  My kids had a blast!  There were other kids there to play with.  They played freeze tag, red rover-red rover and hide and seek!  Brianna (aka-the social butterfly) made her way around to everyone to tell them about her whole life history!  She was the life of the party!  We had a great time seeing our friends!  We had a lot of fun!

I finally convinced this man that it was okay to loosen up a bit and have a drink. This was the 1st drink he's had in 4 years! Well, apparently I was too convincing.  He told me later on he had eight!  Oh well, he had fun with his friends!  That's what counts!  I'm glad I drove home!

I wanted a cute picture of my two kiddos.  I think I got it!

Daddy and his boy!

It was kinda hot outside for a bonfire tonight.  We had to stay back pretty far!  It was too warm!

She had such a fun time at the bonfire!

So did this little boy!

Jack and Don.  Jack used to work with Don years ago.  They've been friends for a long time.  He & his family are the ones who have the bonfire every year.  Last year it was so cold we didn't stay very long.

Don's sister, Debbie, was nice to take a family picture for us!

Bonfires are so much fun!  Especially when you can spend it with good friends and a few drinks!
