Sunday 9/26/10 - Brian Wichman Memorial BBQ

Today was a bitter sweet day.  A friend of mine in Jr. High/High school (Brian Wichman), passed away 3 years ago, very suddenly, at the young age of 33.  His parents, Don & Linda, had a Memorial BBQ to honor his memory for all of his friends and family.  I was lucky to become friends with his mom, Linda, thru Facebook.  She is an amazing and wonderful woman!  I feel very blessed to have her in my life.  It was a happy day that we were able to celebrate the life of my friend, Brian and remember all the good times we had with him.  I got to meet his sister, Julie, that I met on Facebook too.  I also got to see some of my 'ol highschool buddies that I haven't seen in over 18 years!  It was so good to see them again!  It was fun to reminisce down memory lane!  We broke out the yearbook and the stories started flying!   Makes me wish I didn't live so far away from everyone.  :(

Brianna had a blast playing pool on my friend's pool table in their basement!

Getting ready to release balloons in memory of my friend, Brian.  We all wrote special messages to him (on our balloons) hoping he would get them in heaven.  Gotta side shot of my friend, Brady.  He turned his head right as I was trying to take his picture!  Brady and I have known each other since we were 13 years old!

Every one's getting ready to release their balloons.

Walking down to where we were releasing them

Two of my friends, Scott & Jason (with the green balloons).  On your mark...

Get set...

RELEASE!!

Brian's mom, Linda, made a little memorial table with pictures and things that were special to him.

It was fun to go down memory lane to honor a friend, but very sad that a life was cut so short.  It was hard to keep myself from crying.

One of my friends, Bryan.  I've known him as long as I've known my friend, Brady.  It was so good to see him again and meet his wife and daughter too!

My friends Scott & Brady!  I sure do miss these guys!  There were a lot of other friends who were here too.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them.  We sure had fun talking about the "good ole days"!

It was great to meet up with old friends, but too bad it had to be over the death of a mutual friend.  I've learned never to take life for granted or the special people in it.  People are placed in your life for a reason.  I am thankful for each and everone who I'm blessed to have in mine!
