I had a group of 4 girls, including Brianna.
This was what we saw when we first walked in! It was on the ceiling!
Isn't this cool?!?!
This was one of the exhibits at the Science Center. Unfortunately, it cost extra so we weren't allowed to see it.
Some of the kiddos going down the stairs to watch a show and see more exhibits
I thought this was funny! It was on the floor.
This was an exhibit of dinosaurs. T-Rex was pretty awesome. He was mechanical. He would move his head around, growl and roar!
This was supposed to be Triceratops that T-Rex wounded. You could actually see Triceratops "breathing". The kids thought it was real!
I told Brianna this is what Triceratop's head looked like under his skin. She didn't know what to think!
I tried to get a picture of the kids in front of T-Rex. They were all scared of it! They were covering their ears cause the growling and roaring of T-Rex was pretty loud! After I took the picture, they all ran away REAL fast!
I thought this was neat. It's a mummy child.
Some of the activities the kids could do. Chloe and Brianna had fun!
Can ya tell by the look on this little girl's face, she was having a blast?!?!?
The girls in my group putting puzzles together.
(In this picture, notice how much taller Brianna is than the other little girls)
They all kept running over to look out this window to look down at this...
T-REX! They were TRUELY scared of him! I kept reassuring them he wasn't real. It was only a mechanical version of what one would've looked like years ago. They thought he was gonna come over and eat them!
Next we looked at 3-D pictures! The kids had fun looking through the "funny" glasses! This is Brianna looking though hers!
Brianna's friend, Nate, looking through his funny glasses!
Another friend, Ellie, looking through her glasses.
I took a few pictures of the 3-D pictures the kids were looking at with their glasses.
Another 3-D picture
This was "Godzilla". He was some kind of funny looking lizard. The girls were scared of him too.
Feathers that the kids could examine with and without a magnifying glass.
The kiddos had fun looking at this computer and pressing the buttons, making it work!
Trying to make something out of these blocks...
This was what they were trying to make...
I think it was a little too advanced for 3-4 year olds. The teachers and parents tried to help them, but they didn't quite understand. They were having too much fun making whatever they wanted!
The Science Center has a "bridge"where you can look down on the highway below. It goes all the way across the road! You can see how fast the cars are going with radar guns. Here, the girls are looking down through windows in the floor. They were all afraid to walk on them. They thought they were going to fall through!
Some of the kids looking through the binoculars on the walkway bridge
I was trying to get a picture of the girls in my group. L to R: Chloe, Emily, Brianna & Alanna. Alanna was my shadow. She followed me all over! She was the sweetest little girl! The girl with the dark hear (Emily) was nice to "inform" her classmates that there was no such thing as Santa. I was horrified! Before I could respond to her, Brianna turned to me and said, "Mommy, what a shame. Emily's not gonna get nothin' but a dog turd in her stocking!" I busted out laughing! How sad that this girl's parents felt the need to inform her of no Santa. Kids' innocences are being robbed at such an early age nowadays.
There were some neat exhibits of the planets too!
I forgot what this exhibit was about. I couldn't get past all the money! Now wouldn't THAT be nice to have all that?!?!
A space suit that the astronauts wore up in space
This was a good year! So was 1968, 2006 & 2008...lol. What were you doing this year?
After we walked through the Science Center, we played outside on the playground at the Planetarium.
She had such a blast!
On this playground, there were a lot of fun things for the kids to do. This particular thing, you'd stand on one end to roll the ball to the other. It was fun to watch them get such a kick out of it!
This was a maze to walk through that had different colors. I walked through it a few times with Alanna. Brianna ran into one of her friends that she went to school last year (who's now in Kindergarden this year). She was off playing with her and wanted nothing to do with me...lol.
After the kids played, we all had a picnic lunch that consisted of Bologna sandwiches, oranges, carrot sticks, chips and a cookie. After that we got back on the bus to head back to school. Over all, the kids had a great time. I think they were all a little too young for the Science Center. Most of the exhibits, they didn't understand, but they had fun anyway. It was a great way to enjoy the nice weather!
