Sunday 4/17/11 - Easter Egg Hunt

Today was the annual Easter Egg hunt in St. Jacob.  The kids were excited to see the Easter Bunny this year.  This is the 3rd year that the kids have been going to hunt for egg and visit with their favorite Bunny friend.  This is the first year that Jacob really got what was going on.  Jack and I coached him that the Easter Bunny was GOOD and he shouldn't be scared of him.  We told him that he gave out candy to all the good little boys and girls.  That was good enough for Jacob!  You can pretty much bribe that boy with anything sweet and he'll be puddy in your hands.  Brianna was on a mission...to be the one with the MOST EGGS!  She wanted to wear flip flops, but I told her since it had stormed a few days before, the grass would be pretty wet and the park would most likely be muddy.  Besides, I mentioned that she could run faster in her tennis shoes to get more eggs.  That was a good enough reason for her!  I took pictures of our fun day up at the park.  Hope you enjoy them!

She wanted to wear a dress for the Easter Bunny.  I told her only if she would wear leggins underneath it.  She was fine with that.  Isn't she a pretty little girl?  She's the prettiest little gal I know!

We're working on his smile.  Atleast he's looking at the camera!

I thought this was a great picture of the two of them.  They're BOTH looking AND smiling at the same time!

Jacob was watching out for the Easter Bunny to come.  I told him when he hears police sirens, he was getting close.  Here, Jacob was telling us, "There he is!  Here comes the Easter Bunny!"

The Easter Bunny always rides in on a Fire Truck along with a police escort from the St. Jacob Police Dept.

Who knew the Easter Bunny arrived by Fire Truck?!?!

After the Easter Bunny arrives, he hands out candy to all the kids.

The mayor of St. Jacob, Mayor Ray Muniz, & the Easter Bunny were telling the kids what to do to get ready for the Egg Hunt.  The first group up was the 2 & under group.  Since Jacob is still two (I keep forgetting this) he was still in this group this year.

Jack went with Jacob to help him.  Jack has the tan cargo shorts on with an olive colored shirt.

I went with Brianna.  This was the best picture I could get of her before the 3-4 year old group went.  She wouldn't look at me because she was concentrating on getting the most eggs...lol.

Look at her go!  She was running like lickety split!  She meant business!

Brianna did really good this year.  Look at all the eggs she found!  I counted 15 eggs in her basket!  WOW!

Jacob found 7 eggs this year.  Jack said he didn't seem as interested as last year.  I bet if we would've told him there was candy in them, he would've found more!

Jacob was more interested in the fire truck than the Easter Bunny.  :)

Another successful Easter Egg Hunt is over.  Time to go home!
