Sunday 4/24/11 - Trying new things can be a good thing!

Fortunately for us, one of our kids is willing to try new things.  I'll give you one guess...it's NOT Brianna.  Anytime Jacob sees someone eating something, he wants to know what it is you're eating and usually is willing to try it.  Jack was sitting at the table eating corn dogs for lunch.  Jacob asked him what he was eating.  Jack told him and asked if he wanted a bite.  Jacob crawled up on his lap and took a bite.  He made a face at first.  He always tries something a few times before deciding upon whether he likes it or not.  Well, this was a definite YES!!  So, we made him a corn dog to see if he'd eat it.  I took pictures to show the results...

At first, he played with it more than he would eat it.  He would pull the stick out then put it back in.  He tore a little of the corn breading off to eat the hot dog first.  I can't say I blame him.  I'm not exactly a fan of corn dogs.  I like the hot dog, just not the cornbread.  I'm NOT a fan of cornbread at all.  YUCK!!  Yes, I'm aware that I'm weird, but I can't help it.  Sorry.

Here he is trying it all together.  He didn't look to sure at first.

I know this smile isn't too convincing, but he REALLY did like it!  He told me at first he wanted Mustard to dip it in.  Then he told me he didn't like that, he wanted ketchup.  Then he changed his mind once again and wanted ranch dressing.  When he was finished eating, his plate looked like he had painted a picture.  He had mustard, ketchup and ranch all smeared together on his plate.  It looked so gross, but whatever works to get him to try & eat something new!
