Wednesday 8/24/11 - 1st check up

Today was the 1st time Kyndall went to the pediatrician for her check up since she's been out of the hospital.   She's doing fabulous since she's been home!   The day she left the hospital, her weight was back up to 7 lbs 9 oz (birth weight was 7 lbs 11 oz).  Today, her weight was up to 8 lbs 4 1/2 oz.  Her length wasn't checked today.   Her doctor checked her over really well to make sure everything was going the way it was supposed to.  She's eating between 2-3 oz each feeding during the day.  Towards the evening, she starts taking approximately 3-4 oz at each feeding.  She usually sleeps between 5-7 hours at night (most nights) before waking up to eat again.  Like I've said, she's a REALLY good baby.  She's very pleasant, but not so patient when she's hungry.   My mom came with me today to help out with Jacob & Kyndall.  Fortunately, Brianna is in school during the day so that's not an issue.  I'm not able to drive again until Saturday and I won't be able to lift more than 10 lbs for a total of 6 weeks.  As well as going up and down stairs, doing laundry & vacuuming.  Pretty much any thing like that is off limits to make sure I heal properly and have no complications.  While at the doctor's office, my mother felt that Kyndall, Dr. Skoultchi & I needed our picture taken together.  I'm not big on getting my picture taken, but I decided to take one for the team...lol.

Waiting for the doctor to come see us in the room...

This is Brianna, Jacob & Kyndall's doctor, Dr. Alan Skoultchi.  I can't say enough nice things about him.  He's the kind of doctor EVERYONE should have for their kids.  SERIOUSLY.  He always makes sure you understand things and will answer any questions you may have before you leave the office.  He's the kind of doctor that can look over you child, listen to what you have to say, then he'll tell you what's wrong with them (when they're sick).  He's ALWAYS right on.  He's the kind of person I call, "Scary Smart".  That's a term I've made up.  I also like that when I have a question and have to call the office, I usually never have to wait for more than a hour before he calls back.  I also call Jack, "Scary Smart" too. I don't feel many people deserve this "title", but these are two people I feel that do.

Kyndall is due to return for her 1 month check up in a few weeks.  To make it easier on me, Jacob will go on the same day for his 3 year check up.  I may have to call on Meemaw to help me out that day (hint hint, Meemaw).  :)
