Monday 9/19/11 - We're making a little headway...

How's the potty training going, you ask?  Well, we're doing better than what we were, that's for sure.  I've gotten him to stop peeing in his pull up finally (for the most part).  He was doing well so I thought I'd try him in "regular" underwear. That was a bust so it's back to pull ups for now.  Atleast he's only wearing a diaper at night.  Only one thing would make it better...if he would TELL ME  he has to go instead of ME REMINDING him.  He can go a hour or longer w/o having to go so who knows?   He does well as long as someone pays A LOT of attention to him.  If you can't, then he'll go in his pants on purpose.  I've discovered this right away.  It's hard for me to pay as much attention to him as HE FEELS HE needs due to having 2 other kids, especially an infant.  I try to explain to him that I can't always do EVERYTHING he wants.  I try so hard, but I'm only one person.  What can a momma do?  To say the least I'm a little frustrated.  He knows what to do, it's just a matter of getting him to do it.  I talked to the pediatrician about it friday at our check ups.  He said that he has to get it in his head that he wants to do it.  Right now, he doesn't want to.  Most likely for attention because of the new baby.  Someone told me that as soon as he realizes that his baby sister isn't going anywhere, he can get on with his day!  I wish he'd figure that out SOON!  He's used to being the baby and now that's changed.  He's the dreaded "MIDDLE CHILD".  Well, his dad is the middle child and I think he's turned out just fine!  I'll keep you posted...

I went to check on him and this is what I saw!  I kinda thought he looked like a genie here!  Don't worry...it's a CLEAN pull up!  I wouldn't let my boy put a DIRTY one on his head!  That's just GROSS!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be potty trained (atleast during the day) in 6 months.  By the end of the year would be fabulous, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.  We've been working on this potty training thing ALL YEAR.  Now do ya see why I'm so flippin' frustrated?!  :D
