Monday 10/24/11 - Field Trip to Relleke Farms

Our very 1st Kindergarten field trip to the pumpkin farm got rained out last week.  It was rescheduled for today instead!  Since I am still off on maternity leave, I asked Brianna if she wanted me to go with her.  She gave me her "permission" so I was able to go!  :)   There were all kinds of fun things to do...pony rides, face paintings, mazes, hay rides, etc.  You name it, they had it here.  Fortunately today was a nice day to enjoy all of these things.  I took a bunch of pictures today, but I'll try not to post them all to spare you.  :)

This is Brianna's cousin, Adan.  These two were partners today!

I had to keep telling them to wait for me!  They were so excited they were running to the next attraction!

I thought this was really cool!  They had gourds hanging from the ceiling in this area.

Pony Rides!

Hi Mommy!

Adan on his horse.  He has horses at home so he's a pro at riding them!

Adan riding his horse

This little lady had a ball riding her horse!

I caught Adan giving his horse a hug & a kiss before he left.  How sweet!  He loves horses!

The kids found some bunnies to pet.  They said they were so soft!

There were animals there.  The kids had fun talking to them & looking at them!

I had to keep telling the kids NOT to put their fingers in the fence or get to close.  The geese were hissing & honking at the kids.  I don't think they were too thrilled with them.  After I told the kids these geese could peck their eyes out, if they got too close, they quickly got away from them.  :)

Adan waiting in line to get his face painted

These were what the kids had to choose from.

I asked Adan what he was going to get painted on his face...

He told me, "Aunt Kelly, I'm getting a SNAKE!!"

Brianna getting her face painted.  This is the lady who paints the kids' faces when we go to the PBJ in the summer on Fridays.  She's painted both B & J's face several times before.  Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to bring Jacob.  He would've LOVED this today!

The little boy in the black, gray & white camo jacket & white hat likes Brianna (I think).  He kept trying to get her attention by saying, "Hi Brianna!"  His name is Bobby.  I asked Brianna if this was her "new" boyfriend?  She blushed & quickly replied, "NO!"  I guess that's a YES...lol.   Bobby's a cutie!  I guess that means Riley's out & Bobby's in now.  :D   Man, she moves FAST!!  Hee hee.

Brianna got a heart painted on her face.  I told her she should've gotten a scary painting for Halloween.  She said she didn't want to.

Washing hands after petting the animals

This is one of Brianna's classmates, C.J.  This is the face painting he got.  A few of the boys got this.  I thought this was hilarious!  I couldn't look at any of them with a straight face.  :)

The kids gathering together to get ready to go on a hayride.

Adan on top of the Haystack pyramid.  This thing was really BIG!

Of course, Adan had to slide down head first.  :)

Brianna waiting her turn to go down the slide

She saw Adan doing this, so she had to slide down head first too.

Brianna sliding the right way

The cousins sliding down together!

This man had a little doggie that rode on the top of his tractor!  He even had a piece of carpet for the dog to sit on...lol.

Going on a hayride!

Feeding the goats.  They were given grain in an ice cream cone to feed them.  Adan said one of them took the whole thing right out of his hands and ate it!  He said, "Aunt Kelly, that goat is a pig!  He musta been hungry!"

HUGE Pumpkins!

Brianna & Adan running up and down touching all the Cow Pumpkins

Each child was able to pick out a small pumpkin to take home with them.  Brianna was trying to find just the right one.

Adan showed me the one he picked.  I told him I'd have to take another picture of him since he blocked his face.  :)

Silly Cousins!

They even sat together on the bus!

This is another classmate of Brianna's.  His name is Ethan.  I couldn't look at him without laughing!  I asked him if I could take his picture?   He was happy to let me do it!

After we ate our picnic lunch there, we got on the bus and headed back to school.  I could hear all the students talking about how much fun they had!  I'm glad the weather cooperated for them to go!
