Today, Jacob had his 15 month check up with his pediatrician. His doctor got to see Jacob in action first hand! I said, "I'd like for you to meet my sweet holy terror!" The doctor laughed and said, "He's just a busy guy, that's all." Busy is an UNDERSTATEMENT! He makes me tired just watching him in action. The doctor was pleasantly surprised with how well Jacob is doing. Jacob weighs 28 lbs 4.5 oz and is 34 1/8" tall! His Dr told me J's the size of a 23 month old. He's in the 75% for his weight, but his height is greater than 97%. In other words, it's off their chart for his age. Jacob has a total of 12 teeth (6 upper and 6 lower) and he has all of his molars now...thank goodness! Those teeth are tough ones to cut, I'm here to testify to that. After speaking to his doctor and telling him about all the things J can do, his doctor said he's one smart cookie. He's on a 21 month old level. I told him that J doesn't talk much (probably cause he doesn't get an opportunity to due to his sister...
lol). He only says about 9 words now. Brianna at 12 months was saying roughly 80-100 words by that time. He said that it's like comparing apples to oranges. He said that Brianna has always been off the chart when it comes to things like that. I told him that I didn't know what was "normal" for J's age. The Dr said that most children J's age can barely say 1-2 words. I'm just relieved he's doing well and thriving. He said J is a very healthy, smart, normal little boy. I made sure to mention about J's tantrums he throws. I had one theory as to why he has such fits. It seems that J gets frustrated at times because he can't get across what he wants to say or wants. I told him I have to ask Brianna what he's saying and she can translate for me. He said that's called sibling language. He said that could be why. He said that physically and mentally J is on a 2 year old level and could be going through the dreaded "terrible two's" early. Great, just what I wanted to hear. He said not to worry, it's just a stage and will eventually pass. Probably just not fast enough. He was fortunate enough to witness one of J's tantrums while we were there. All the doctor could say was, "Oh boy...you're in for some fun." I don't think he meant that in a good way either. He also said, "I can see a lot of ER visits in your future." I really didn't want to hear that either. I can honestly say, having a boy is a TOTALLY different experience than a girl, THAT'S for sure! Not a bad thing, just DIFFERENT!
After J's appointment, we went over to visit with
Meemaw (my mom) for a bit and to eat lunch before we left. She took him over to the window to watch the cars drive by. He REALLY enjoyed that!

He was really into the cars. He would point to them and babble about them.

I tried to get him to look at me so I could take his picture. This was the look I got. Looks like I'm bothering him, doesn't it?
LOL!

He tried to climb up on the window
sill to stand up on it. My mom had to hang on to him so he wouldn't fall. When we tried to get him down so we could leave to go home, he would run back over to the chair to climb back up there again. Jacob also was scared to ride in the elevator too. He would cry the whole time we were in there. People couldn't get off the elevator fast enough to get away! He would stop crying once we were out. We had an
eventful day, that's for sure!
