Sunday 11/29/09 - Look out Chuck E. Cheese! Here we come!
Brianna's Great Aunt Pam was so kind as to send me coupons to take Brianna to Chuck E. Cheese. How she knew that Brianna has been pestering me for over 6 months now to go there is beyond me...lol. This was where Brianna wanted to have her last birthday party. I've been ignoring her when she tells me this because I've heard how expensive it is to go there. A light went off in my head and decided to use those coupons to my advantage. =). After a few times of Brianna going #2 on the toilet, she abruptly stopped. We have no idea why, but she absolutely refused to do it. She would only go in a diaper. I talked to her pediatrician about it, threatened her, tried to reason with her...NOTHING worked. I mean NOTHING. I was told that she would do this in her own time when she was ready, not when WE were. Jack and I usually don't allow her to have gum, suckers or too much candy. I tried to bribe her with that. She told me she didn't care if she got gum or any candy. She flat out refused to go poop on the toilet. We were all getting frustrated and just about at our wits end. Grandma Parker even told her that she was almost out of her diapers and wasn't going to buy any more. Since Brianna has problems with constipation we have to be very careful with how we approach this situation. Not intentionally, but I made the situation worse one time and she refused to go to the bathroom for 5 days. Yeah, not good. I had a long talk with her yesterday about this subject. I told her if she would start pooping on the toilet, her dad and I would take her to Chuck E. Cheese. Her eyes lit up and she seemed to be interested. I asked her if she could try to do this for me? She said that she would, I didn't know whether to believe her or not. She's promised me before to do this, but didn't follow through. I have a funny story to tell before I continue with my post. Yesterday, I was getting ready to change Jacob because he had pooped in his pants. The phone rang so I put him down to answer it. All of a sudden, Brianna let out this blood curdling scream. I asked her what on earth was the matter? (Jacob was trying to sit next to her) She said, "I don't want Jacob to sit next to me!" I asked her why not. She said, "Because he stinks!" LOL! I laughed my butt off when she said that! Now...on with my post. I brought this back up to her while I was having my talk with her. I asked her if she remembered when she didn't want her brother to sit next to her because he stunk? She said she did. I told her she smelled just like that and no one wanted to sit by her either. I asked if she liked to smell like that? Her reply to me was, "No mommy! I don't want to stink!" I told her then she needed to think about going #2 on the potty, not in her pants. I'm proud to say a little while later, she asked to sit on the toilet! It took about 20 minutes, but she went! YAY!! She went 4 times today! She was so excited we let her call Grandma & Grandpa Parker, Meemaw (my mom), and Grandma Great (my grandma). In this picture she was pretending to call her friends to tell them her great news! I asked her who she was talking to? She abruptly told me, "SHHH! Mommy, I'll tell you when I'm off the phone. Don't interrupt me while I'm talking." I laughed and walked away...lol! Keep your fingers crossed that she continues on with this. She doesn't wet her pants at all and even manages to stay dry at night too. Now if she can do that, she can definitely poop on the toilet! I told her she's a big girl now. YAY!!! Looks like I may be going to Chuck E. Cheese after all...lol.
