Sunday 11/29/09 - Our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Due to Jacob climbing and getting into everything, Jack and I decided not to put up our huge 8 foot Christmas tree this year. We felt it wouldn't be safe around Jacob nor he around it. I didn't want him to knock it over, break ornaments, etc. While I was looking around at Dollar General one day, I noticed some cheap trees on sale. I didn't buy one at that time, but I mentioned it to Jack when I got home. A few days later we went back for him to look at them to see what he thought. We wanted to have a tree up, but one that wasn't so big. Jack agreed that was a good idea so this is what we ended up buying. A "6 foot" Prelit Christmas tree.
Jack put it together for me...

I made him smile so I could take another picture. He asked me if I had to take pictures of EVERYTHING? I told him, "Why yes I do!" Can't believe he even asked that question! LOL!

Brianna and Jacob were fascinated by it. Jacob kept touching it.

This is my tree...before I decorated it. Pretty pathetic, isn't it? I tried to fix the branches on it the best I could. I did this after I took this picture.

This is the tree AFTER I fixed the branches and decorated it. I asked Jack, "How tall is that tree supposed to be?" He said, "On the box it said 6 Feet." I had to laugh cause it was barely as tall as I was! I'm 5'5 1/2" tall. He said there was this long branch that stuck up in the air on the top that he folded over to put the angel on. He said it looked silly with one pathetic branch sticking up in the air like that. Haha. Yes, I know this tree is pretty pathetic, but it serves the purpose this year. There are no ornaments on it that can break or be broken into tiny shards of glass to hurt anyone. I only put ones on the tree that could be hung by a string...there are none that are hung by hooks. Jack said it looked like a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!!

Brianna wanted her picture taken by the new tree.

She tried to get her brother to stand in front of it. Doesn't look like he felt the same, does it? He wasn't thrilled in the least!
