Saturday 2/6/10 - Our trip to Walmart...

We had to make our weekly trip to Walmart today.  I was dreading it, but it couldn't be avoided, unfortunately. I don't mind going on off peak hours, but going on a saturday around noon is nothing short of insane!  Yes, I admit, we were totally nuts for going at that time, but it had to be done.  Jack is FINALLY going back to work monday - YAY!!!- (after being laid off for the past 8 LOOOONG WEEKS) and needed things for lunch.   Where he'll be working, he'll be out in the middle of no where and will not have access to any food other than what he brings.   Brianna's pre-k class is having a Valentines Day party this friday.  Each child is asked to bring a few items to the party, i.e. cups, plates, napkins, fruit, cookies, fruit snacks, cheese cubes, dip, chips, etc.  I signed her up to bring cookies and fruit snacks.  We also had to get valentine cards for her to hand out to all the kids.  There are 33 kids between the a.m. & p.m. classes.  Not to leave any child out, we had to get enough cards for everyone.  We also had to get supplies to decorate a brown paper bag for her to collect all the valentine cards at her party.  It's NEVER a dull moment when we go to ANY store...especially Wally World!

I've been wanting to get Jacob a pair of slippers to wear around the house for quite some time.  I found these on sale and decided to get them.  At first, he walked around kind of funny...

He wasn't too sure about them...

That's it...they're comin' off!

Look who wanted to wear them!  I can't believe she fit her big foot in them.  Where there's a will, there's a way, I guess.

Some how we HAD to come home with this.  We saw several kids in the store with balloons and of course, my kids HAD to have one too.  Jacob screamed until he got one.  Dora was the only one that survived.  Jacob wanted a Toy Story balloon, but twice let it fly up to the ceiling in the store.  I told Jack we should put Dora back and get a package of balloons to blow up.  That way each could have their own.  He didn't listen to me.  When we got home, we had a fight on our hands.  Technically, it was Brianna's balloon, but she was nice and shared it with her little brother.  I told her if she wanted to wear his slippers, she had to let him carry around the balloon.  She reluctantly agreed.

Dora and Brianna

She was laying on the floor watching t.v. while holding her balloon.  Notice the Halloween socks?  She wanted to wear them to Walmart.  I told her she wasn't wearing them because - 1) it wasn't Halloween & 2) they didn't match and they looked silly.  She got mad and started to cry.  I told her when we got back from the store, she could put them on.  I was hoping she'd forget, but I was wrong.  LOL.

Valentine cookies and fruit snacks for Brianna's party on friday

Valentine Cards for her party.  I helped her write her name on half of them.  She got tired of writing so I had to finish them up.

This is the front of Brianna's bag we decorated to put her cards in

This is the back of the bag

She also had to perform good deeds.  Then I had to write them on hearts provided by her school teachers to bring to school for a project.  Today, she helped both her dad and I with laundry.  Since she shared her balloon with her brother, I felt that deserved to be told too.

I love my kids, but do you see why I prefer to go to the store...ALONE?  I can get in and get out and I spend much less too!
