Friday 5/21/10 - The Peanut Butter & Jam Festival is Back!!

Today was the first day of the PBJ Festival this year.  It signifies summer!  Highland IL has this festival, in the summer months, most every fridays from 11:30am to 1pm.  They have free music entertainment, free & cheap food and things for the kids to do.  Brianna asked, if after school, we could go there.  After school, we went to none other than Mikey D's and headed to the PBJ.   We had a ton of fun there!

I love seeing these signs around the square in downtown Highland!  This means summer is coming!

Free food provided at the PBJ

Brianna wanted to play in the fountain.  I told her to go stick her hand in it.  After she did, she said, "BRRRR!!!  That water's cold!"  I have ways of indirectly making my point...lol.

This rascal refused to look at me while I had my camera pointed in his direction.  I also brought the stroller with me to contain him.  I didn't feel like chasing him all over the place!

We saw a clown at the PBJ

She was making things out of balloons for the kiddos

When the clown asked Brianna what she wanted her to make, Brianna said, "GRAPES".  The clown and I were both confused at her answer.  The clown said, "How about I make you a little poodle instead."  After the clown started making it, I realized Brianna thought she was making grapes when she was really making a poodle!  She saw the clown make this for the little girl before us.  HAHA!

The clown made Jacob a turtle.  She said it was harder to pop!  What a smart clown!

The clown asked me if I wanted to get her picture with the kids.  Duh!  That was a no brainer!  Of course, no one was looking but the clown.

Brianna found the popsicles!

I asked Brianna if she wanted to get her face painted.  She jumped at the chance to do it!

Brianna getting her face painted.  You only have to give a "donation" to have this done.

Brianna chose to get a strawberry painted on her face.  The lady doing it put a little flower on it as an extra bonus!

She wasn't sure about smiling after she had her face painted.  She was so excited to have this done!

The Highland Lions Club was one of the many vendors there selling food for lunch.  This is a really neat thing that gives people of all ages something fun to do!  We love going to the PBJ!!
