Saturday 7/17/10 - St. Jacob Homecoming 2010

Tonight was the second night of the St. Jacob Homecoming.  Jack's uncle asked him to drive one of his vehicles in the parade so that left me to fend for myself with the kids.  I broke out the double stroller so it would be easier for me to wrangle both kiddos up.  I swear, that thing is the greatest thing!  I don't get to use it often enough.  It's like having 4 more hands!  With it, I can handle both kids, any drinks/snacks we have, put the diaper bag down below (to save my shoulders) and even get some exercise while pushing all of it!  If you have two small children, I highly recommend it!   Jacob stayed strapped into the stroller while Brianna would run to collect all the candy and beads that were thrown their way.  They had a blast.  Neither were too thrilled about all the loud noises from the race cars, fire trucks and police cars.  I won't post all the pictures I took.  I'll spare you so I won't make this post too long!

Jacob enjoyed the parade from the back of the stroller.  He was happy to be here, especially when the loud noises came!

This little lady had a blast!

This is St. Jacob's police chief, Larry Morietta.  He just retired from serving over 30 years here in this little town.  We sure will miss him!

I bet this guy was burning up in this outfit!  YIKES!!  Brianna thought he looked silly wearing a skirt!

I thought this car was so cool!  I love the zipper between the purple and red!

Did you know chickens get around in St. Jacob by Cadillac Escalades?  Who knew?

Jack driving his uncle's Toyota Celica.  The passenger side window wouldn't roll down so I couldn't get a good picture of Jack.  Not to mention the sun was shining right in my face.

I thought this little train that the Lion's Club had was so cute!

This guy riding on this teeny motorcycle was hilarious!  Jacob and Brianna both got a kick outta him!

Ahhh...what a beauty!  Even if it IS a Ford.  Sorry people, I'm a Chevy gal all the way!

The guy driving this race car kept reaving up his engine when he saw me taking his picture.  Brianna & Jacob both were scared.  Brianna ran and hid behind me.  I guess he was showing off.  Sorry dude, I wasn't impressed. Besides, you scared the heck outta my kids!

These were some of the more exciting pictures I took.  After the parade was over, we met back up with Jack.  We ate dinner up at the homecoming.  I know carnival food is sooo bad for you, but it's oh so good!  Then we went home and went night swimming before the storm hit!  Maybe next year, Jacob will enjoy it more.  I'm sure he'll feel more brave to go get his candy by himself!  Between the two of them, they made a killing in candy and beads!  We also went to the parade friday night too.  The parade was better friday.  There were more floats, but it was more crowded though.
