Today, J had his 2 year check up with his pediatrician. I dropped B off at school, then J and I headed to St. Louis. His doctor got to see him in action! Right after the doctor asked me if J could climb, J grabbed a step stool, pulled it over to a table and preceded to climb up on it to reach something up on the wall. I asked the doctor, "Well, does THAT answer your question?" He kinda chuckled and said, "Why yes, it answers a couple of questions I had." The doctor explained to me where J was in comparison to other children his age.
Here are his stats:
*Height: 38 inches tall (greater than 97th%) - B is only 42 1/2" tall. He's catching up to her!
*Weight: 31lbs 15oz (90th%)
* Head circumference: 50 1/2 cm (90-95th%) - no wonder I'm having a difficult time getting his head to fit in his shirts!
He knows all his colors, shapes, can climb stairs without assistance, can run REALLY fast (especially when he's trying to get away from me), he can jump pretty far (for a little guy), can say about 50 words, can use them in a 2-3 word sentence. That's all I can remember at the moment.
I told the doctor that a lot of people have commented to me about how big J is. He gets mistaken for a 3 year old A LOT. The doctor said, "That's because he's the size of one." The doctor also mentioned J is as smart as a 3 year old too. I'm impressed! YAY!! We have another smarty on our hands!! I guess Jack and I grow 'em big AND smart! HAHA!! I am thankful I have two healthy, smart and beautiful children! I couldn't ask for anything more. Well, it would be great if they would clean up their rooms, but I guess I'll take what I can get!
