Sunday 7/10/11-We need goggles & floaties to swim!

Today, we were finally able to get into the pool for the first time this year!  The kids were soooo excited about it!  We bought them a few noodles several weeks ago, hoping we'd be able to get into the pool sometime soon.  In order for the kids to get into the pool, they have to have their swimming suits on with built in floaties, their water wings & noodles to help their head about the water.  This was the first year Brianna was able to "swim" by herself!  Thanks to the masks Meemaw gave to the kids, they were able to look underwater too!  Brianna thought that was cool!  Jacob still can't get the hang of NOT drinking all the pool water when he "looks" under water.  :)  I told him he needed to keep his mouth closed.  If he drank it all, we wouldn't have anything to swim in!  I did not go swimming.  I usually don't when I'm pregnant.  I don't have a suit to fit around my expanding waist for one and I just don't feel like getting into the pool when I'm as big as a whale.  I know whales are usually found in the water, but this one will skip out this time.  :D   Jack was thankful that Brianna was able to float and swim on her own.  He only had to keep an extra close eye on Jacob.  I was on the deck taking pictures, sitting in the shade.  I would've liked to have gotten in the pool, but oh well.  Maybe next year.  The pictures of the kids with their masks on totally crack me up!   I couldn't stop laughing!!  What do you think?

Jacob was patiently waiting his turn until Daddy said he could get in the pool.  He had to get Brianna situated first.  He's got all the necessary things needed to swim!

Jacob getting into the pool for the first time this year!  His excitement quickly turned into fright.  He clung to his daddy for dear life once he got into the pool.  After all, he is a little guy and the pool is REALLY big when you're only 3 ft tall.  :)

Jacob got thrown up in the air a few times to try to make him smile and lighten his mood a bit.  He was scared of the water at first. 

Brianna said the pool needed to be stirred a little bit.  Don't ask me what that means.  I haven't got a clue.

I asked her if she was doing okay.  She waved to assure me she was doing fine. 

After Jacob started to get used to being in the water, he hollered to me to go get his mask that Meemaw gave him.  He wanted to see what under the water looked like!

I brought Brianna's out too.  As sure as I would've gotten outside w/o it, I'd have to go back in to get it. 

I asked them if I could get a picture of both of them together with their masks on.  They got out of the pool so I could snap a quick picture.  This picture makes me giggle every time I look at it!  :)

Brianna after she looked under the water for the first time!  She was so proud of herself!  This is a HUGE accomplishment for her.  She doesn't like water in her face or on her head at all.  She freaks out in the bathtub when we have to rinse her hair!

When he REALLY got comfortable, he wanted to jump into the pool and have daddy catch him.  We had to tell him he had to say, 1...2...3...GO!  Before he jumped.  He's not the greatest on "warning" the person who's to catch him first before he jumps.  He whacked Jack in the nose and mouth real hard.  Jack thought he was bleeding and said it really hurt!

He would swim to the ladder all by himself to climb back up just to do it all again!

1...2...3...GO!!  WEEEEEE!!!

We had a TON of fun today swimming in the pool!  Hopefully next week, we'll be able to get out into the pool again to enjoy it!   Hope you got a kick out of the pictures (especially the ones with the masks!)!  Thanks again Meemaw for the masks!  The kids think they're AWESOME!!
