Friday 6/17/11 - Making our Father's Day project

Today, after taking Brianna for her 5 year check up, we went to the store to get a Father's Day project for the kids to make for their daddy.  Before I touch on that, I'll give the stats and results of Brianna's physical.  She is now 40.4 lbs (she's in the 50th percentile for her age).  The doctor said that's slightly down from the last time, but she's been sick quite a bit lately so that's probably the reason for that.  She is also 44 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile for her age).  She passed her physical with flying colors and has exceeded her doctor's expectations for her age!  He said she was doing great!  Jacob stayed with Grandma Parker while I took Brianna to her appointment.  He's a little too busy and would be distracting. :)   After her appointment, we went to pick him up so we could all go pick out a project to make for their dad.  After we picked out our project to make him, I treated them to Mc Donald's since we hadn't been in a while.  Then we had to hurry home to make our project before Jack got home from work.  We didn't want to ruin the surprise!

This is what Brianna picked out to make for her daddy for Father's Day.  This was all her idea.  I had nothing to do with it.  I just paided for it...lol.   She wanted to make something extra special for him.  He said that he never gets anything as special for Father's Day as I do for Mother's Day because she's still in school.  The past 2 years I've gotten some really great presents!  I was pleasantly surprised that she picked this!  She thought this was something very special that he could use every day to remember her and her brother by!  Isn't she sweet!  Now, if she'll keep it quiet from her dad.  Brianna is not the greatest about keeping secrets.  She's quite the blabber mouth!  :)

Jacob really enjoyed making his own coffee mug for his dad!

Brianna was trying to teach her brother that he had to rinse his paint brush BEFORE dipping it in different colors.  He sorta got the concept.

He did such a great job!

She made such a colorful mug for her daddy!  She really concentrated on her project.  She said she wanted it to be extra special for her dad!

Their finished product!  Jacob's  is on the left, Brianna's is on the right.  I helped them out just a little.  I painted stars on Jacob's mug & wrote I love Daddy.  On Brianna's she wanted flowers so I painted a few and wrote I love Dad on hers.  This is side one:

This is side two:  Again...Jacob's is on the left, Brianna's is on the right.

Jacob washing his hands after he was finished making his project. Surprisingly, he didn't have it all over the place.

We're hoping Daddy will be extra surprised on Sunday!  :D  I'm keeping my fingers crossed Brianna can keep her mouth shut until then...lol.
